Now I baked my first Mother’s Day Pavlova cake for my mother-in-law in 2013 and learned a lot of tips and tricks for the perfect cake. Since then, I have made countless Pavlovas, including mini Pavlovas and chocolate Pavlovas.

If you are looking for a simple Pavlova recipe with proven results, this is the place for you. Pavlovas are delicate meringue cakes, typically topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit. They can be baked in a variety of ways, simply prepared with egg white, sugar and meredue, or baked with butter, cream cheese, chocolate, vanilla, eggs, buttercream, and sugar.

The meringue is then placed on a baking tray or spoon and baked at a low temperature, which dries it out until it becomes crispy on the outside while retaining moisture. Once the pavlova peel has cooled down, it is usually filled with freshly whipped, sweetened cream, with the sweetness enhanced by a layer of fresh fruit such as strawberries, blueberries, cherries, apples, oranges or strawberries.

Homemade Pavlova is a rustic-looking meringue that is nicely simple, especially when topped with fresh cream and berries (who doesn’t just love it?), and it’s one of the most show-stopping desserts because it can be prepared in a simple way that any baker can follow at home. Making the perfect patch requires a bit of practice each time, but once you master the recipe, you’ll achieve perfect results in no time.

Pavlova may look intimidating, but it will be your signature dessert, and it is one of the most popular desserts in the world of baking.

Blackberries are one of my fruity favorites, and in September the hedgerows are full of wild, so this version of the classic British pud is topped with blackberries and drizzled with a homemade berry sauce.
